At Una Ola Surf School, we begin the first lesson by teaching the basics of surfing, like water safety, surfing etiquette, wave dynamics, how to paddle a surfboard, how to catch a wave, as well as, how to stand up and ride a wave.
Each daily lesson starts with a dynamic stretching routine to prepare your muscles and joints for the tasks to follow. Once your body is warmed up we move on to teaching you practical surfing skills in bite size chunks, making the lessons easier for you to process and learn. Every lesson is hands-on with our surf instructors.
At Una Ola Surf School, all surfing lessons are taught by qualified Costa Rican surf instructors that are also experienced lifeguards. All surfing instructors are approved by the Costa Rican Surfing Federation, ILS www.islf.org Lifesaving qualified, Red Cross and ISA (level 1, 2 & 3) trained and certified.
