Surf Report - Pavones, Costa Rica - March 2, 2011

Costa Rica Surf Report:

3ft  Waist high waves with poor shape.

Pavones, Costa Rica –   The surf was small and inconsistent today with rare sets in the chest high range.  Bay winds were a factor this morning and it never really cleaned up.  Forecasts are predicting smaller waves tomorrow so I’m not expecting to much.  Hopefully, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Costa Rica Tides:

We had a morning low tide of 0.97ft @ 7:23am, moving up to a high tide of 7.79ft @ 1:39pm, then dropping down to a low tide of 1.22ft @ 7:46pm tonight.

Costa Rica Weather:

The weather in southern Costa Rica was hot this morning.  We had sunny skies today in Pavones, Costa Rica.  The winds were light onshore with bumpy surfing conditions most of the morning.

Costa Rica Surf Report:

2-3ft Knee to waist high waves with poor shape.

Pavones, Costa Rica –   The surf was total junk today.  Minus tides and morning sickness make for crappy surf conditions.  Oh well, I got some dings to repair and some work to do around the place.   It looks like we will be getting a little bump in the swell over the next few days, so I guess its time to prepare and rest.  Hopefully, the weather will hold up because the storm that came through last night was wicked!  And it hasn’t let up all day though the tide came in fast and it got really glassy.  Still, nothing much to speak of.

Costa Rica Tides:

We had an early morning high tide of 9.83ft @ 4:18am dropping quickly to a low tide of -1.02ft @ 10:26am, then filling back in to high tide of 10.09ft @ 4:45pm this evening.

Costa Rica Weather:

Rainy with onshore winds and poor surfing conditions today.  Maybe tomorrow… who knows?

Costa Rica Surf Report:

3-4ft Chest high with good shape.

Witch’s Rock (Playa Naranjo), Costa Rica – We hit up Witch’s Rock and Ollie’s Point yesterday and had a blast.  Conditions were good in the morning at Witch’s rock with waves coming in around chest high.  Wind was hard offshore setting up some small but fun barrels.  We didn’t have much luck at Ollie’s Point as the surf was knee to waist high.  Water was cold today but we had a good time.

Costa Rica Tides:

We had an early morning high tide of 9.22ft @4:06am, moving down to a low tide of -0.02ft @10:19m, then moving back up to a high tide of 8.62ft @ 4:38pm.

Costa Rica Weather:

Partly Cloudy

Costa Rica Surf Report:

3-4ft Chest high with good shape.

Witch’s Rock (Playa Naranjo), Costa Rica – We made a trip to Witch’s rock and scored with some great conditions and fun waves.  Although the surf was a little smaller than what we hoped for, we had chest to the occasional shoulder high waves with strong offshore winds.  The conditions were near perfect with blue skies, clean and glassy surf.   Oh yeah, we had this place to ourselves for a good 3 hours!

Costa Rica Tides:

We had a morning high tide of 7.11ft @8:43am, moving down to a low tide of 1.83ft @2:49pm, then moving back up to a high tide of 7.47ft @ 9:23pm.
